Office of the
Tax Collector
Barry H. Bellew, Tax CollectorServing owners of real property located within the boundaries of Upper Macungie Township including its recognized villages of Breinigsville, Fogelsville, Kuhnsville, and Trexlertown and more.

Three ways to pay — and three amounts
Payments can be delivered to the Tax Collector by mail/courier, placed in the 24-hour drop box, or handed to the Tax Collector in-person during posted sitting hours. For your protection, cash payment is ONLY accepted when given directly to the Tax Collector or deputy; never deliver cash payment via mail or drop box!
Every real estate tax bill issued by this office displays 3 payment periods separated into columns: DISCOUNT, FLAT, and PENALTY. Each column displays the amount due if payment is RECEIVED** between the dates listed in that column.
**For the purpose of tax payments, "received" is the date the payment is physically in the Tax Collector's hands OR the date of an official postmark on a sealed envelope sent via USPS. Visit the "Pay your tax" page for additional instructions and information on making payments.
When bills are issued
Regular bills are issued once each year and the tax billed covers the 12-month fiscal period of the taxing body.
Exception/Interim bills are issued after notification from the Lehigh County Office of Assessment of a change in assessed value or ownership. The effective date set by the County will determine whether the amount of tax owed is for the entire 12-month fiscal period or reduced to the number of months remaining in the taxing body's fiscal period from the effective date onward.
Exception/Interim bills typically issue in any month from February thru August
Exception/Interim bills typically issue in February, May, and August
